WW1 SCOTTISH BASKET HILT BROADSWORD BELONGING TO CAPTAIN HAY OF THE CAMERON HIGHLANDERS.

Large silver basket hilt of the Scottish style still retaining the red insert liner, the handle is covered with fish skin, large ornate silver pommel. SWISS SCHMIDT RUBIN SAWBACK PIONEER BAYONET.

This is a very long massive bayonet and it is the 1914 model. Factory blued hilt, the bayonet slot is in good working order, the crossguard is stamped with an issue number. Campaign furniture and accessories were popular with the British military as they were reinforced with metal binding giving extra strength for travelling with the army.
