VICTORIAN SCOTTISH HALLMARKED SILVER HIGHLAND DIRK.

A large and very impressive highland dirk. Black bogwood grip is in fine condition and it is carved in a complicated Celtic design. The silver pommel cap is inset with a large stone. This fine pepperbox pistol is fitted with 120 bore six shot barrel with English proof marks and with bar hammer above. Nickel silver side plates marked Wood Worcester and Improved Revolving Pistol. Steel fluted barrels of 54 bore and they are proof marked. The frame is border and scroll engraved with top bar hammer. Chequered wooden grip with silver escutcheon, the but with hinged lidded compartment for housing balls / caps. The makers name is worn but appears to be a Bristol maker. A very nice small bronze bust of Napoleon wearing his French Generals cocked hat with military uniform and displaying his shoulder straps and military awards. VICTORIAN PIN CUSHION TO THE LIFE GUARDS REGIMENT.

These large heart shaped pin cushions were given by British troops in the late Victorian or early 1900's to there wife or sweetheart as a love token.
