This popular style fur hat is modelled on the Russian army hat and which was ideal for winter warfare in Russia. Field grey body with rabbit fur sides and flaps, fitted with army metal eagle and swastika. The interior has an artificial silk ribbed lining and it is maker marked and dated 1942. This Lufthansa pilots badge was purchased with an assortment of WW2 German awards and badges from the son of a British Veteran who obtained the items in 1945. This metal badge features the silver pilots wings with oakleaf circle and with the Lufthansa eagle design on a Luftwaffe blue cloth backing. The reverse side features long metal pin.
