GERMAN LUFTHANSA PILOTS BADGE.

This Lufthansa pilots badge was purchased with an assortment of WW2 German awards and badges from the son of a British Veteran who obtained the items in 1945. This metal badge features the silver pilots wings with oakleaf circle and with the Lufthansa eagle design on a Luftwaffe blue cloth backing. The reverse side features long metal pin. This is a German language newspaper promoting WW2 and NS politics, it was published in the USA in May 2000 probably because it is illegal to publish such a newspaper in Germany. Complete with a British Socialist Workers leaflet advising the British public not to vote for the far right National front party, it probably dates from the 1980's. Early gilt brass hilt which still retains traces of the gilt finish. The black celluloid grip is in perfect condition. The crossguard features rare early type eagle with short pointed wings with excellent detail to the swastika, the backstrap is decorated with acorns and oakleaves.
