This is a very unusual example of a Third Reich K98 combat bayonet, the original owner has personalised it by fitting it with a set of fine quality stag horn grip plates, the hilt metal fittings were also silver plated at the same time probably so it can be worn on parade or with walking out dress, it now looks very similar to a pioneer model parade bayonet. RLB 2ND MODEL LEADERS DAGGER BY ALCOSO.

This is a very interesting example as it was originally issued in1936 as a 1st pattern dagger, but in 1938 it was updated to become a 2nd model dagger with the fitment of a central mount so the dagger can be worn with the new type of hangers and at the same time the grip insignia was changed to the 2nd pattern black swastika type, these up-dated daggers are desirable and very difficult to find....  read more

THIRD REICH NSFK FLYERS DAGGER BY HELLER (THE BALLOON MAN) COMPLETE WITH HANGER.

This is an extremely nice all nickel silver example in fine condition. The crossguard features black enamel swastikas to the obverse and revers side and they are in perfect condition, the tip of the crossguard is stamped with the letter K which most are, but not all. Fine quality and very impressive staghorn grip plates. The hilt retains much original silver plated finish. This example has a nice age patina as it has never been cleaned, it almost looks pale gold in appearance. All nickel silver fittings, the lower crossguard is group marked on the reverse side Ns for the SA group Niedersachsen. Fine detail to the Luftwaffe crossguard eagle and the swastika pommel, the swastikas still retain almost 100% original gilt finish. The beautiful orange grip is in mint condition. The black celluloid grip plates are in perfect condition and the obverse side is complete with enamel HJ diamond swastika badge which is in mint condition.
