GERMAN NAVAL DAGGER 1929 MODEL.
The white celluloid grip is in perfect condition. The pommel is the flame ball type and shows excellent detail. The crossguard features the anchor to the obvers and reverse sides, it is the early type that does not feature a push button and so the blade is held in place by pressure. The blade is the plain plated type, the reverse side features a naval waffen amp stamp with the letter M and an anchor. The scabbard is the lightning bolt type and fitted with early style figure of eight rope bands, the throat of the scabbard also features the anchor and M waffen amp stamp. Complete with silver knot which has some wear to the stem but the cord and acorn are perfect. This model dagger was worn during the Weimar period and then into the Third Reich until the new model dagger was introduced into service in 1938, a difficult German naval dagger to find. Exc++
