RAD MANS DAGGER WITH RARE FULL STAG GRIP BY EICKHORN WITH MATCHING ISSUE NUMBERS.

This is the initial 1934 model RAD dagger that was produced with full stag grip plates including the very tip, a few month latter they changed the design slightly so that the tip was metal and so making it much easer and less time consuming to produce the grip plates, these rare and very early RAD daggers were only produced by Eickhorn and for a very short period of time. Fine quality and very impressive full stage grip plates. Nickel silver hilt fittings, the reverse side of the hilt just below the grip is issue stamped, Ma 1008.The blade shows age and wear, the obvers side features the RAD motto, the reverse side features the early small oval Eickhorn Solingen trade mark and RADJ in a triangle, the trade mark is slightly worn but it can still be easily seen, this is still a bright blade and carful cleaning would considerable improve it . Complete with black painted scabbard which retains at least 90% original black paint, most of the wear is to the reverse side, complete with matching fittings, the top fitting is stamped with issue number Ma 1008 which matches the dagger. Not a mint dagger but certainly rare and especially nice with matching issue numbers. Exc+
