VERY RARE SA DAGGER FROG.
Similar in appearance to a bayonet frog but this very rare hanger was manufactured and fitted for an SA dagger. The grip retaining strap is still in perfect condition. The reverse side is stamped, RZM with makers code L2/441/38. It is believed that these rare hangers were worn by the SA Feldherrnhalle Regiment and it is pictured and described in one of the Johnson reference books . Exc++
RAD MANS DAGGER BY EICKHORN COMPLETE WITH HANGER AND BELT LOOP IN NEAR MINT CONDITION.
The beautiful stag horn grip is in mint condition. The hilt retains almost all silver plating. The superb blade is also in near mint condition, the obverse side features the RAD motto and the reverse side is marked with the 1935 / 41 pattern Eickhorn squirrel trade mark and it is also etched with the RAD acceptance mark. The scabbard retains 98% original black paint, the wear is mostly to the reverse side, the matching scabbard fittings retain almost all silver plating and perfectly matches the hilt fittings. Complete with black leather RAD hanger and rare matching black leather belt loop the large metal clip is in good working order and it is maker marked A for Assmann, these belt loops are very rare and valuable in there own right. A very nice set which would be difficult to improve on and being by Eickhorn makes it even more desirable. Near mint.
SA KEPI FOR GROUP NORDSEE.
This is a fine looking early example which dates to 1933 / 1935 period. Brown cotton body with green wool centre band. Complete with brown leather chin strap, gold button and early style SA eagle. Standard brown water proof cloth lining to the interior with brown leather sweat band with early style RZM issue tag to the underside which is interesting as it also bears the original owners name so the original owner could possibly be researched. [Condition: Exc++]
DLV FLYERS DAGGER BY EICKHORN COMPLETE WITH HANGER.
This is a very early example from the initial production period of 1934 / 35. Nickel silver hilt fittings are in fine condition and have an attractive age patina as it has not been cleaned for a very long time. The crossguard black enamel swastikas are in perfect condition, the very tip of the crossguard is stamped with a letter K which is often seen on early examples. The blue leather grip is in perfect condition. The blade is in excellent condition and the reverse side features the makers details, Eickhorn Solingen, the trade mark is there small oval type used from 1933 - 1935. The scabbard is in fine condition and it retains all of it blue leather and it is fitted with matching nickel silver mounts, the top mount is stamped with the DLV acceptance mark. Complete with leather hanger which is also in fine condition, the spring clip is in good working order. This is a very early high quality example and as mentioned above dates from the initial production period. Exc++
ENGLISH EARLY VICTORIAN PERCUSSION SPORTING RIFLE BY WILLIAM DOOLEY.
This antique percussion riffle was purchased privately and it has never been in a collection or even cleaned, just wiped over with oil. Fine quality wooden stock with silver blank escutcheon. The cock is still tight and in perfect working order and it is engraved with floral decoration, the lock plate is also engraved with matching floral decoration and it is also engraved with the gun makers name, W.Dooley. The steel trigger guard is also engraved with floral decoration. Eight sided steel barrel, the forward sight is fixed and the back sight is hinged and so adjustable, the top of the barrel is engraved W.Dooley Liverpool (the name and town is age worn but it can still be seen).The riffle is fitted with metal loops so it can be fitted with a carrying strap. Complete with steel ramrod. Good working order. Circa 1850. [Condition: Exc+]
DELUX SENIOR FORESTRY DAGGER WITH EAGLE AND SWASTIKA INCORPORATED IN THE HILT DESIGN.
Simulated ivory grip plates are in perfect condition and are complete with all six acorn decoration. The hilt of the cutlass still retains almost 100% original gilt finish, the grip bolster below the grip plates features a highly detailed eagle and swastika design which is very rare to find on forestry daggers, the clamshell features a large hunting dog. The blade is in near mint condition, it is double etched with various hunting / forestry designs such as stags in forest, fox and wild boar, the blade is maker stamped Z in a shield which is the trade mark for Clemen & Jung Solingen. Complete with matching scabbard which is an interesting example as it has a black painted shell rather than standard leather type which is something that we see from time to time and especially with this makers products, it is complete with matching gilt mounts, the frog stud is interesting as it is decorated with a large bird, the lower fitting is decorated with oakleaves, the scabbard mounts are also stamped with a model or parts number being 21. A very rare deluxe forestry leaders dagger and those featuring the rare eagle and swastika design are often missing from even the most advanced collections. This really is a superb forestry officers dagger. [Condition: Near Mint]
THIRD REICH NAVAL COASTAL ARTILLERY NCO PEAKED CAP.
A fine looking example of this rare naval NCO's hat which has lots of style and character to it. Naval field gray top with dark green center band. Complete with gilt metal naval cockade, gilt eagle and black leather chin strap which is held in place by two gilt naval buttons. Gold silk lining with celluloid patch which is 90% complete, brown leather sweat band shows wear with one small split but it is still complete. There are several minor moth nips to the crown of the hat but basically this is a very nice example of a beautiful looking cap which has a great combat look to it. [Condition: Exc++]
SA LEADERS TUNIC TYRE RUNE ARM INSIGNIA FROM VICTOR LUTZE\'S FAMILY.
The tyre rune was worn by those who had attended the Reichsfuhrerschule. This example comes from the well known Ivor Bush Collection, Ivor specialised in items that belonged to the SA Stabscheff Victor Lutze, at one time he owned several of his daggers, documents, insignia and many photographs. I visited Ivor at his home in London on a number of occasions and I remember that he explained that the Tyre Rune was a gift to him from the Lutze family back in the 1970's, the Lutze family were personal friends of his and he visited and stayed with them many times. Black cloth arrow which is machine stitched on white backing which is then attached red backing cloth. Complete with a photograph of Victor Lutze which clearly shows him wearing a similar Tyre Rune on his tunic, the reverse side of the photograph has Ivor Bush name and address label and photograph details. Near mint.
WW1 SET OF BRITISH MEDALS AND PAPERWORK GROUPING, OWNER LATTER DEVELOPED A WHISKY BRAND.
This set comprises the 1914/15 star, war medal and victory medal. Parade mounted and each one is engraved with the owners details,1197 GNR J.L.MURRAY R.F.A. Complete with a quantity of family document, several postcard and cigarette lighter with owners initials JLM .The documents include, War credit certificate dated 1944, Agricultural certificate for Murray and giving his home address as Thorninbton farm in Northumberland and dated 1950. Birth Certificate for his wife dated 1917 (lot younger than her Husband). Birth certificate dated 1951 for there daughter. Various post war ration coupons. Three post cards, two from North Devon and one from Scotland. Several letters from a whisky company concerning J.L.Murray whisky and lastly an advertising card for, J.L.CHOICE OLD SCOTCH WHISKY. An interesting medal and document set for the medal collector or collector of whisky paraphernalia. Exc++
