SS CHAINED LEADERS DAGGER 1936 MODEL, NEAR MINT CONDITION.
The SS chained officers dagger is probably the most desirable of all German daggers and almost every collector desires to own at least one example and this one is in superb near mint condition. The nickel silver hilt fittings are in perfect condition. The black ebony grip is in near mint condition and it is inset with the SS runic badge and silver eagle, there are a couple of tiny and very faint hair line cracks but they are difficult to see unless under high magnification or pointed out, they are extremely minor. The blade is also in fine condition and it displays the SS motto on the obverse side, the reverse side is plain with out a makers name which is correct for the 36 model SS dagger and is what you want to see, there are a few scratches to the blade mostly from rubbing of the internal scabbard springs. The scabbard retains at least 98% black paint and it is complete with three matching fittings which are also in exceptional condition, the centre mount is decorated with six linked swastikas and the mount is held in place by a single screw. The scabbard is fitted with the so called type 2 chain hanger, the chain links are decorated with skulls and SS runes, the links still retain much original factory blacking, the reverse side of one of the links is stamped with the SS Kulturezeichen acceptance stamp, the spring clip is in perfect working order. Complete with silver bullion dagger knot which could be worn with the SS chained dagger if the original owner was a member of the Waffen SS or the SD. This is a beautiful example of the SS chained leaders dagger and it is very difficult to find an example as nice as this now as most are in collections. Near mint.
BRITISH WW1 MIDSHIPMANS DAGGER WITH OWNERS INITIALS AND COMPLETE WITH HANGERS AND LEATHER BELT.
Fine detail to brass lions head hilt, the crossguard features the crowned anchor. White fish skin grip is in excellent condition. The blade is by the top maker Gieves, and it is double etched with long foliage panels with crowned naval anchor and George the 5th Royal cypher, the blade is in really nice condition just showing light age. Black leather scabbard with matching brass mounts, the upper mount is fitted with locking spring and it is also engraved with the original owners initials, J.R.A.D. A very nice personalised example and with a full set of the owners initials it should be possible to discover the original owners identity and so it would make an interesting research project. The price is for just the dagger and scabbard there are no hangers with this item. Exc++
THIRD REICH RAILWAY POLICE OFFICERS CUFF TITLE.
Black cuff title with silver borders and silver bullion letters, BAHRNSCHUTZPOLIZEI. This rare cufftitle was instituted in 1941 as part of the new Railway police uniform. If you collect cuff bands this is a rare example but it would also be ideal for a police or Railway collector and it would also look very nice displayed with a Railway dagger. [Condition: Mint]
SS OFFICERS SWORD COMPLETE WITH SS KNOT AND BLACK LEATHER HANGER.
This superb complete set has never been in a collection as it was purchased privately, it is in near mint condition and it is almost certainly the best you will ever find. Nickel silver hilt fittings have a very attractive age patina as it has never been cleaned, the underside of the hilt has the SS Kulturezeichen acceptance stamp. The pommel cap is the unique SS type which screws into the hilt of the sword with metal internal cap which covers the tip of the blade tang (police swords the pommel always screws into the blade tang) . The black wooden grip is in perfect condition just showing light wear but no damage at all and it is inset with SS runic badge. The blade is in mint condition and it does not have a makers name which is correct for the SS officers sword, original early SS officers swords are always non maker marked or produced by Krebs, latter examples can be found by PMD but these latter swords are not normally that desirable as most collectors prefer the early type, the blade still retains its white buffer pad. The scabbard is also in remarkable condition as it retains 99% original black paint and it is complete with two silver fittings, the upper scabbard fitting has the SS Kulturezeichen acceptance stamp, the lower fitting does not have screws as it is held in place by pressure and it is what you normally see on an SS sword scabbard. Complete with original SS officers knot and black leather sword hanger. An extremely nice SS officers sword which I can highly recommend. Blade length is approcamatly 81cm or 32 inches and the total length of sword with scabbard is 102cm or 40 inches. Nest mint.
SS POLICE NCO SWORD BY EICKHORN COMPLETE WITH KNOT.
The silver plated hilt still retains 90% original silver finish. The grip is most unusual, normally police grips are produced in wood but this example is produced in celluloid with an inlaid silver NCO police eagle, in a way this makes sense as many other German edged weapons have celluloid grips but this is the first time I have seen this on a police sword so this is probably an Eichhorn prototype grip. The underside of the crossguard is stamped with the SS Kulturzeichen acceptance stamp. The scabbard retains at least 95% original paint, the throat of the silver top mount is also stamped with the SS Kulturezeichen acceptance stamp. The blade is very nice condition and it features the stamped 1935 / 41 Eickhorn Solingen trade mark and it is fitted with a leather buffer pad. Complete with police knot. A very unusual SS police sword which might be unique, I have certainly never seen another with this type of grip in over 35 years as a dealer and I have sold lots of police swords over the years. EARLY HITLER YOUTH PEAK CAP FOR AN HJ FLYING UNIT.
This is the difficult to find 1933 model. The original owner initially served in a standard HJ unit, at some stage he transfer to the Flieger (flying HJ) and at that time he removed the original red unit piping on his cap and replaced it with blue Flieger piping. Brown body with brown centre band and with blue crown piping. Complete with HJ enamel swastika diamond and early style silver eagle which has only one pin still remaining and complete with correct style black leather chin strap. There is some age marks / stains to the exterior of the hat especially to the crown but it could be cleaned if required. The interior of the hat features the typical political brown cloth lining, the leather sweat band is now missing, it probably just became brittle and so decayed with age. Interesting very early hat belonging to a rare HJ unit and it displays very nicely. Exc+
IMPERIAL GERMAN DRAGOONS OTHER RANKS PICKELHAUBE HELMET COMPLETE WITH RARE TRENCH COVER.
This example comes from a deceased estate and it has never been in collection, certainly not mint but that is a part of the beauty of this helmet. Black leather skull shows some age marks, complete with brass spike, the edge of the visor is reinforced with brass but a small part of this is now missing but this could be restored if required. Large gilt brass Dragoon helmet plate, one of the retaining loops to the reverse side is now missing. The helmet is fitted with both cockades but the leather chin strap is now missing. The interior of the helmet features leather liner which is complete and in nice condition. Complete with rare cloth trench cover marked R111 (Regimental number). Fascinating looking helmet almost a time capsule from the past. Exc+
RAD OFFICERS DAGGER BY WKC WITH LEATHER STRAPS.
This beautiful RAD leaders dagger is in superb condition. The white celluloid grip plates are in mint condition. Superb condition silver hilt with fine detail to the eagles head hilt, the crossguard features the RAD wheat sheaf and swastika design. The blade is in near mint condition, the obverse side features the RAD motto and the reverse side the makers name, WKC Solingen with there knights head trademark. The silver scabbard is also in fine condition and it still retains much silver frosted finish, the central panels retains most of the factory blueing which is normally worn away and it is rare to see. Complete with a set of brown leather RAD officers hangers which are also in exceptionally nice condition. A beautiful set which would be very difficult to improve on. Close to Near mint condition.
POLITICAL LEADERS PEAK CAP FOR A KREIS LEVEL LEADER.
Brown cloth top with dark brown velvet carter band and white piping for a Kreis level political leader. Complete with gilt metal eagle, large impressive cockade with enamel swastika bade and gold cap cords. The interior features brown sweat band which is in perfect condition with RZM Tuchmutze label to the underside, gold cloth lining with plain celluloid patch which is in perfect condition, small black ink stain to interior lining. No moth or damage, this is an extremely nice hat which is close to near mint condition.
POLITICAL LEADERS TUNIC FOR A KREIS LEVEL LEADER.
High quality brown wool four pocket tunic. The collar of the tunic is piped in white for a Kreis level official, complete with matching handstitched white piped collar patches featuring gilt eagle and four metal pips to each for the rank of Kreis Gemeinschaftsleiter (community Leader), the right arm of tunic has a superb ornate Political leaders arm band which features two wide gold bullion bands decorated with oakleaves for the position of Leiter Eines Amtes (leader of a comunity department) and with white circle with black swastika with gold border, the upper and lower edges of the armband are piped in white for a Kreis leader. Tunic is complete with gilt metal buttons which are each decorated with eagle swastika. Loops on tunic for three awards. The interior of the tunic features a gold silk lining. A few small moth nips but which are mainly on the reverse side, it displays very nicely on a mannequin. Complete with a matching set of brown wool political leaders breeches. Exc++
