ORIGINAL LATE 1930\'S BOOK, UNIFORMEN DER DEUTSCHEN WEHRMACHT.

ORIGINAL LATE 1930\'S BOOK, UNIFORMEN DER DEUTSCHEN WEHRMACHT.

Uniforms of the German armed forces, this original book was published circa 1938 and covers the Army, Luftwaffe and Navy. Red leatherette cover with title to spine, book contains approcamatly 150 pages with many full colour illustrations of military uniforms, It also features pages on insignia, qualification badges such as the Luftwaffe retired pilot and the Army paratroopers badge and much more. Some extra pages or inserts have been added to the book as new regulations were introduced during the war years. At the later part of the book there are illustration's of the various daggers available which is very interesting as the army example has a much darker grip than the naval and airforce examples confirming that army daggers were issued with orange grips and not what some believe that it is just the celluloid changing colour from white to orange over time. The book served a similar function as the NSDAP organisation book and has many similarities including the colour of the cover and the coloured uniform illustrations. Mounted to the cover of the book is a metal political style cap eagle which was probably added by the original owner, the two metal pins are still in place to the revers side of the eagle, the eagle has value and is collectable and can be removed from the book if required. Near mint.

SA DAGGER 1933 MODEL BY PACK WITH MATCHING ISSUE NUMBERS.

SA DAGGER 1933 MODEL BY PACK WITH MATCHING ISSUE NUMBERS.

Fine quality brown wooden grip inset with SA insignia and silver eagle, there are a couple of tiny nicks close to the crossguard but they are very minor. All early nickel silver fittings, the reverse side of the lower guard is stamped with an SA group mark Nrh for Niederrhein and then it is deeply stamped with issue number, 14 34227 which is the Standarter (Regiment) number and the owners SA membership number. The blade is etched on the obverse side with the SA motto, the reverse side is maker marked, EP & S (Pack) Solingen with there Siegfried man with hammer trade mark, there is some faint age spotting to the blade but over all it is still very nice. Complete with brown anodised scabbard with matching nickel silver mounts, the ball to the lower fitting is dented as they often are, the reverse side of the upper fitting is stamped with matching SA issue numbers, 14 34227, it is also very interesting that the number was stamped with such force that it literally dented the fitting, this is the deepest stamping I have ever seen. A most interesting SA dagger. Exc++

SS CHAINED LEADERS DAGGER 1936 MODEL.

SS CHAINED LEADERS DAGGER 1936 MODEL.

This SS officers chained dagger is from the initial production period of 1936 and it is produced in solid nickel silver, by 1937 they were changing over to plated fittings. SS chained daggers from this early period are extremely hard to find, I probably see one nickel example for every 10 plated examples and this is the first nickel example I have offered for sale in many years, they are very rare and very desirable. Solid nickel hilt fittings. The fine quality black ebony grip is in perfect condition and it is inset with silver eagle and the SS runic badge. The blade features the SS motto to the obverse side and there are a few age marks to the lower part of the blade / inscription but they are not bad and probably could be removed by carful cleaning if required, the reverse side of the blade is in mint condition and it does not have a makers name which is correct for the 36 model dagger. The dagger retains 95% + original black paint, most of the wear is to the reverse side, the fittings are matching nickel silver and the central fitting is decorated with six linked swastikas and the fitting is held in place by one single screw which is typical and what you normally see on a painted scabbard. The dagger is complete with a 2nd pattern chain hanger of the very earliest period of production, the link still retain traces of the original factory blackened finish and the reverse side of one of the links is stamped with the SS Kulturezeichen mark, fine detail to the cloverleaf, there is a slight bend in the spring clip which could be easily straitened if required but I have left it as it is as it is still in working order and is not really noticeable. A rare and difficult to find and highly desirable SS leaders dagger. Exc++
