GOLD PARTY BADGE OF THE NSDAP BELONGING TO FRANZ WEITESSER WITH LARGE RESEARCH FILE.
This is a superb large size 30mm gold party badge in fine condition with the more desirable and difficult to find military style pin to the reverse side.The badge is in just about mint condition, the oakleaf wreath still retains almost all original gilt finish and there is no damage to the enamel badge.The reverse side also retains almost all of the original gilt finish and it is marked GES GESCH in a box and below this the original owners NSDAP membership number 52272, the military style pin and hook are in perfect working order. The badge was awarded to Franz Weitesser, he was born on the 8.9.1905 in Oberdonau in Austria, he was married to Cristina who was German and apparently they did not have any children. They lived in the town of Freistadt in the Ober Oesterreich and his occupation was secret investigator. He joined the NSDAP on the 1.2.27 with membership number 52272 which matches the number on the reverse side of the badge. Mysteriously he joined the party for a second time on the 1.4.1928 while already a member but this was soon realized and his second membership was canceled and he retained his original membership number 52272 until the end of the war, why he tried to join the party twice is really a bit of a mystery and not something i have ever encountered before. There is a large document file accompanying the badge of over 30 pages so i imagine much more can be discovered from these from careful study. A beautiful example, gold party badges have become very difficult to find recently and this really is an outstanding documented example. [Condition: Near Mint]
ARMY OFFICERS PANZER GRENADIERS PEAK CAP BY EREL.
A very nice high quality hat by the highly desirable maker Erel and belonging to an officers serving with the Panzer grenadiers. Grey cloth top with dark green centre band and green piping. Complete with metal army eagle, silver bullion cockade and silver cap cords which are held in place by two silver buttons. Gold silk lining is in perfect condition but it does show age staining, complete with celluloid patch with makers details, EREL SONDER KLASSE and being there Extra model. The brown leather sweat band is in perfect condition and it is marked EREL. A very attractive looking high quality peaked cap and hard to find being for the panzer grenadiers. [Condition: Exc++]
WW1 BRITISH PRINCESS MARY 1914 CHRISTMAS GIFT TIN WITH CONTENTS.
In 1914 Princess Marry gave to the British troops a Christmas present, a tin which contained either tobacco or chocolate, normally the contents are long gone and the tins are empty, this example is a rare exception as it still contains the original contents. The contents comprise, a packet of tobacco which has never been opened, a packet of cigarettes, these have been opened but the content of 20 cigarettes are all still all remaining. Rare 303 bullet pencil. Christmas card from Princess Marry, a photograph of the princess and even the original envelope. Complete with the original brass decorative presentation tin. Although the tins are often available it is extremely rare to find an example with all its original content. Near Mint.
LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS SWORD BY HELBIG.
This is an all aluminum example. The blue leather grip is in excellent condition. The aluminum hilt fittings are in excellent condition and the pommel and crossguard swastikas still retain much original gilt finish. The blade is by Helbig of Steinbach and shows some light wear but it is still in very nice condition. The scabbard has matching aluminum mounts, the blue leather shell is in fine condition and all remaining, there is a small dent to the reverse side of the scabbard close to the center but it is very minor and hardly worth mentioning. Complete with scarce blue leather moon shaped hanger which is nice to see as these hangers are often missing and are almost impossible to find. [Condition: Exc++]
SS DAGGER 1933 MODEL COMPLETE WITH VERTICAL HANGER AND BELT LOOP.
This example was purchased privately and it has never been in a collection. The silver plated hilt fittings are in excellent condition. The black wooden grip is in near mint condition and it is inset with silver eagle and SS runic badge. The blade is beautiful and the best you will find as it is in mint condition, the SS motto still retains all of the factory colouring, the reverse side is marked, RZM 1211/38 SS, which is the makers code for Pack Solingen and 38 is the year of manufacture 1938. The scabbard retains almost all original black paint with some age spidering which is always nice to see, the scabbard is fitted with matching silver plated fittings, the lower fitting has some plating wear mainly to the reverse side. Complete with black leather vertical frog hanger and belt loop, the frog is SS RZM marked and dated 1938 which matches the date of the dagger. A really nice complete set, SS daggers have become extremely difficult to find especially when as nice as this one. EXC++
LUFTWAFFE HERMANN GORING REGIMENT NCO PEAK CAP.
Luftwaffe blue top cap with black ribbed center band and white piping to crown and center band of the hat which is unique to the Hermann Goring Regiment. Complete with silver metal Luftwaffe cap eagle, cockade and black leather chin strap which is held in place with two buttons.The interior of the hap has a blue artificial silk lining, the celluloid patch is now missing.The brown sweat band is in very good condition and it has two small disks attached with the original owners initials KP, the under side of the sweat band has the unit stamping for the elite Hermann Goring Regiment. A good looking example of a rare hat. Condition: Exc++
THIRD REICH ARMY SERVICE PLAQUE WITH MINITURE BAYONET.
Wooden shield shape plaque mounted with metal army cap cockade, miniature army parade bayonet, WW2 helmet with eagle and swastika decal insignia and ribbon with long service inscription, ERINNERUNG AN MEIN DIENSTZEIT (In memory of my service time).The miniature bayonet is most unusual, it is very high quality and it is the first time I have seen one of these. Near mint.
HITLER YOUTH LEADERS DAGER BY HORSTER.
A beautiful early quality example of this very rare and much sort after dagger.The pommel and crossguard still retain much silver finish, the pommel features the HJ swastika diamond badge as part of the design and is held on in place by two small screws, latter examples use two metal pins.The wire wrapped grip is in fine condition. The blade is in near mint condition, the obverse side is etched, BLUT UND EHRE (blood and honour), and the reverse side is etched, RZM M7/36 which is the makers code for Horster Solingen.The scabbard leather is in fine condition as are the silver plated mounts, the upper mount features the HJ eagle with swastika to its breast. An exceptionally nice early quality example which would be very difficult to improve on. [Condition: Near Mint]
WW2 CASED IRON CROSS 1ST CLASS, MINT EXAMPLE.
This is a superb convex cross that still retains 100% silver frosted finish. The black paint is also in perfect condition with good high swastika. The reverse side features pin and hook, it is not maker marked. Complete with black leatherette box with iron cross design to lid. If you want the best this is it. Mint.
JAPANEASE WW2 ARMY OFFICER KATANA SWORD.
Cloth bound fish skin grip is in excellent condition and has three menuki on each side under the cloth binding. Decorative gilt brass tsuba. Very nice and impressive blade with pronounced hamon. Army type metal scabbard with gilt brass mounts is in fine condition. This is a very nice officers Katana sword. I have not striped the sword and I have no plans on doing so. Exc++
