RARE RALLY BADGE, DAY OF THE OLD GUARD AT SPANDAU 1933 & INCORPORATTING THE DEUTSCHLAND ERWCHE.

RARE RALLY BADGE, DAY OF THE OLD GUARD AT SPANDAU 1933 & INCORPORATTING THE DEUTSCHLAND ERWCHE.

Large silver oval badge featuring the central design of the Spandau Deutschland Erwche standard with large stylized eagle above. The outer edge of the badge has the following inscription, TAG DER ALTEN GARDE 24-25 JUNI 1933, the badge also depicts town buildings and the Stelhelm swastika badge design. The reverse side features safety pin style pin and hook. There are several desirable and highly collectable rally badges known which incorporates the Deutschland Erwche standard in the design but I believe this is an un-recorded example as I have found no reference to it, I have also consulted various experts and they have also never seen an example before, the reason for this is probably because it was a small rally for very early members of the NSDAP in Spandaue which is a district of Berlin. There are a couple of small dents as can be seen in the photographs but over all it is very nice. Exc++

LARGE SIZE NSDAP GOLD PARTY BADGE BELONGING TO KARL KLIPKER.

LARGE SIZE NSDAP GOLD PARTY BADGE BELONGING TO KARL KLIPKER.

This example is by Deschler and it is the large 30mm type for the party uniform. Some time in the distant past the badge has been carefully drilled with two tiny holes in the gold wreath for attachment to a display board or something similar perhaps by the owners family as a memorial to commemorate the original owners life, I have also owned badges in the past that have been drilled with two small holes so they could be securely worn on the owners uniform (attached with cotton thread) reducing the likelihood of loss in battle so this is also a possibility especially as he had apparently already lost one badge (see below documents). The gold oakleaf wreath still retains some gilt finish and as mentioned above it has two tiny holes in the wreath. The enamel central badge is still in excellent condition with just two tiny chips to the left hand side but they are fairly insignificant. The reverse side is marked, GES GESCH and with the owners NSDAP number 16801 and which is a low number, the pin has been removed but the Deschler marked pin plate is still in place. This badge belonged to Karl Klipker, he was born on the 2.10.1897 and lived at the town of Hagen in Westfalen, he joined the NSDAP soon after it was reformed on the 20.8.1925 at the age of 27 and his occupation is listed as carpenter. Complete with folder containing some professional research concerning Klipker comprising 5 photocopy document from the NSDAP, one is a letter from the NSDAP dated 15.11.1940 stating that party member Klipker has lost his gold party badge while serving on the Western front and that he will be supplied with a replacement. Fascinating badge with a lot of history and it is also priced very realistically as if it was in perfect condition it would be priced over 2k. Exc+
