WW1 BRITISH OFFICERS SWAGGER STICK WITH CONCEALED BLADE..

British army officers swagger stick but this is a special private purchase example with a concealed steel blade. Pulling the handle away from the shaft reveals a long lethal steel blade. Complete with original wrist lanyard which is still in remarkably good condition, these are often missing or broken. When all that a WW1 British officer had to defend himself with was often just his service revolver this would have been a very handy and possibly life saving addition. Exc++

Gilt heart shaped pommel engraved, Airtour. Brown wooden grip with mounted silver plaque which is engraved, Air Traffic Control Gatwick. Gilt decorative grossguard. The blade is in mint condition and it is etched in long decorative panel, THE GUILD OF AIR PILOTS AND NAVIGATORS, It is also engrave with the Wilkinson makers mark. The dagger is complete with its original red leatherette box and it is inset for the dagger and fitted with two silver presentation plaques, large silver plaque to interior lid of the box engraved, GUILD OF AIR PILOTS AND AIR NAVIGATORS SWORD OF HONOUR PRESENTED TO AIR TRAFIC CONTROL GATWICK NOVEMBER 1971, the second plaque is mounted to the base of the box and it is engraved, GUILD OF AIR PILOTS AND AIR NAVIGATORS FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO GENERAL AVIATION. The lid of the box is marked in gold letters, WILKINSON SWORD with crossed sword design. The dagger measures approcamatly 16 inches or 40cm long. The dagger has some age as it is now over 50 years old. Near mint condition

ITALIAN FASCIST 1937 MODEL MVSN OFFICERS DAGGER WITH CHAIN HANGER.

Fine detail to the silver aluminium eagles head hilt. The black celluloid grip plates are in mint condition and the obverse side is inset with the Fascist insignia. The superb plated blade is in near mint condition. The scabbard retains 98% original black paint. Complete with gilt metal chain hanger, the suspension clip displays a large eagle with letters SPQR for the Italian senate and below this a large gilt metal M for the Italian Fascist leader Benito Mussolini. A difficult dagger to find especially in nice condition and this one is close to near mint condition.

The hilt retains almost all silver plating. The black celluloid grip plates are in perfect condition. The long sawback blade is very impressive and it is in mint condition, the blade stamped with company trade mark which features, a helmet displaying the swastika and with company initials LE, this is the trade mark for the company, Linnenbruger & Ellermann, this company specialised in fire service equipment. This is the only fire service bayonet that actully features a swastika in the design and so it is very desirable with collectors. The scabbard is also in fine condition retaining about 98% original back paint. Complete with black leather frog and fire service knot which shows some wear to the strap but it still looks very nice. Difficult and very desirable maker to find. ExC++

The oblong buckle displays the standard SS eagle and SS motto and it still retains traces of the original frosted finish. Late war un-marked example. Exc+

A superb set in near mint condition. Silver brocade straps with double black lines, the reverse side of the straps have black velvet backing. The silver metal buckles are the rare oblong type which are much harder to find than the type with oval buckles, the metal spring clips are in good working order. Rare matching bullion portepee knot, silver cord with black stripes, the stem and the slide are also piped, the base of the silver acorn has a black bullion woven insert. If your Railway dagger is missing the hangers and knot this might be a unique opportunity to complete it. Near mint or better.

This model bayonet is often described as the butchers bayonet because of it clever like blade. Blued hilt fittings, the reverse side of the pommel has a waffen amp stamp, rifle slot is in good working order. The brown wooden grip plates are in excellent condition. The blade is very impressive as it is the sawback type and it is maker marked, Durkopp Werke AG with factory building trade mark set in a triangle, the spine of the blade has a waffen amp stamp and the blade is in excellent condition. Complete with early style and scarce leather scabbard with matching metal fittings and they have waffen amp stamp to the reverse side. Exc++

German WW2 silver presentation army salver of shaped oval design. Engraved with the coat of arms of lower Austria and with a seven line German presentation inscription which translates into English as follows, In gratitude to the highly esteemed inspector of the lower Danube military replacement inspectorate (1/6 1938 - 31/1 1940) the military district command Baden krems a.d.Donan Melk Nikalsburg GT Polten Wr Naustadt. Silver marks to the reverse side, Handarbeit with the crown, moon and 800 silver mark. This is a heavy salver weighing over 435 grams. Length 32cm. Exc++

This is a very nice early production example. All early nickel silver fittings are in fine condition. The stag horn grip plates are also in perfect condition and are a fine quality set. The blade is in near mint condition, the obverse side features the RAD motto, the reverse side is maker marked Gottllieb Hammesfahr Solingen and it is also marked with the RAD acceptance mark and also Ges Gesch which shows that the design was registered. The scabbard is complete with 98% original black paint, the wear is mainly to the reverse side, it is fitted with matching nickel silver mounts, the upper mount is issue stamped FU 950 and the lower mount is decorated with a large swastika to the obverse and reverse sides. A very nice example, it would be difficult to improve on this one. Near mint

These wooden walking sticks were produced in Russia for the German troops. This example is beautifully carved with the German eagle and swastika, complicated chequered designs with foliage and in large letters, RUSSLAND LENINGRAD. Complete with wrist strap constructed from iron cross ribbon. Near mint.
