DLV FLYERS KNIFE BY SMF WITH UNIT MARKINGS AND WITH OWNERS INITIALS.
This very interesting heavily personalized example is especially nice as it has never been cleaned and all early nickel silver fitting have a very attractive age patina. The original blue leather grip is in excellent condition. The black enamel to the crossguard swastikas is perfect, the tip of the crossguard is stamped with the letter K which you often see on original DLV daggers. The pommel is engraved with the original owners initials KE. The blade is by SMF, it does shows some faint spotting but it is very minor and the blade is still very bright, this is still a very nice blade. The blue leather scabbard is in fine condition and it is complete with matching nickel silver mounts, the scabbard throat has a number of stampings, DLV organization stamping, issue number 23, letter stamp H, unusual waffen amp stamp which is F36 and also the owners initials KE, I have never seen a scabbard on a DLV with so many issue stamps it is very unusual and fascinating. Complete with hanger which is also personalized, the metal disk is engraved on both sides with the owners initials KE. It is rather amazing to find a German dagger that has been personalized in four places by the original owner initials, it is very unusual to say the least. [Condition: Exc++]
LUFTWAFFE 2MD MODEL DAGGER BY SMF IN MINT UNISSUED CONDITION.
This is an exceptional example, although i have sold many hundreds of Luftwaffe daggers over the last 30+ years i do not recall having one as nice as this one, it is in basically mint un-issued condition, if it was ever worn it must have been only once or twice and then put away. All gilt finish remaining to the pommel swastikas, the orange grip is in mint condition, fine detail to the Luftwaffe eagle. Mint blade by SMF Solingen and stamped with Luftwaffe acceptance stamp. The scabbard still retains all original factory blued finish.Complete with mint silver portepee knot. This example is in really exceptional condition and so perhaps slightly more expensive than most but if you require the best example available this has to be it as i believe you could not improve on this one, highly recommended. [Condition: Mint]
SS DAGGER 1933 MODEL BY HERDER.
This is a good early quality example with all nickel silver fittings, the lower reverse crossguard is SS group stamped II. The black wooden grip is in perfect condition and it is inset with SS runic badge and silver eagle. The blade is in excellent condition with just slight wear as you would expect, the obverse side features the SS motto, MEINE EHRE HEIST TREUE, the reverse side features the makers name, Rich ABR Herder Silingen. The scabbard shows some wear to the black anodized finish but no dents, damage or rusting, just natural wear and age, the fittings are matching nickel silver. Complete with short leather hanger with nickel clip. A very nice example.
VERY RARE ARMY OFFICERS DAGGER BY EICKHORN WITH REAL IVORY GRIP.
Although ivory was an optional extra available for armed forces daggers, it was a very costly extra and apparently very few officers opted for this extra cost, in over 30 years i can only recall ever having one other standard army dagger with an ivory grip and that was also by Eickhorn, it certainly seemed to be a more popular option with naval daggers as i have had a number of these over the years. All of the silver fittings have a matching black age patina as the dagger has never been cleaned, the detail to the crossguard eagle and pommel is exceptional. The beautiful hand carved ivory grip has a very attractive grain and it is slightly discoloring with age which is very attractive, there are several hairline cracks to the grip which are always nice to see on original old ivory, this really is an exceptional grip and really a work of art. Mint blade by Eickhorn Solingen featuring there 1935 / 41 trade mark. The scabbard is in perfect condition and it has a matching age patina. Complete with silver knot. This really is an exceptional dagger. [Condition: Near Mint]
SA GROUND ROHM HONOR DAGGER, PERSONALISED WITH MATCHING ISSUE NUMBERS.
This is an interesting example of an SA 33 model dagger having matching issue numbers stamped onto the obverse side of the cross guard and also the top scabbard fitting, normally these numbers are found on the reverse side, it is extra nice to find them on the obverse side as obviously this is better for display. All early nickel silver fittings, the reverse side of the lower crossguard is stamped with Group mark Nm, the obverse side is stamped with SA unit number and issue number, 15 / 26026. The brown wooden grip is in perfect condition and it is inset with SA insignia and silver eagle, from the style of the grip is possible to ascertain that the maker is Pack as the grip for this maker is very identifiable. Excellent condition blade, the obverse side features the SA motto and the reverse side has been heavily ground to remove the offending Rohm dedication to include most of the TM, although part of the town name still remains. Brown anodized scabbard shows some wear and is complete with matching nickel silver fittings, the upper obverse side of the top fittings is deeply stamped with the matching SA numbers 15 / 26026. A very nice example of a Rohm dagger and being especially nice being personalized. [Condition: Exc+]
GERMAN THIRD REICH DIVERS KNIFE BY HENCKELS.
Heavy brass hilt and scabbard. large circular ribbed grip, the blade is in mint condition and it is maker stamped with the Henckels twins trade mark and below this, NICHT ROSTEND. The hilt of the knife screws into the large circular brass scabbard. A very rare Third Reich naval divers knife which seldom come onto the collectors market.
SA DAGGER 1933 MODEL BY UNDINE WITH UNIT ISSUE STAMPS AND RARE BROWN LEATHER FROG VERTICAL HANGER.
All early nickel silver fittings, lower revers crossguard is SA Group stamped Nm, it is also stamped 4/R84 17944 (SA unit number and owners SA identification number). The blade is in excellent condition it features the SA motto on the obverse side and the makers name on the reverse side, Undine Solingen with there large trade mark of a fish in a sunburst design. The brown anodized scabbard is in fine condition with most brown anodized finish remaining, complete with matching nickel silver fittings which are also in perfect condition. Complete with rare brown leather vertical frog hanger (similar to an SS vertical hanger but brown leather for SA, these are much harder to find than the SS type). A really nice SA dagger which has it all, fine condition, personalized and rare hanger. [Condition: Exc++]
SA ROHM HONOR DAGGER BY EICKHORN WITH NEAR COMPLETE INSCRIPTION.
All early nickel silver hilt fittings, the lower crossguard reverse side is SA group stamped Wm. The brown wooden grip is in perfect condition and it is inset with SA insignia and silver eagle. The blade features the SA motto to the obverse side, there are a few marks but over all it is in extremely nice condition with much original factory coloring remaining to the motto, the reverse side still retains most of the Rohm inscription, only Rohm's name has been removed but even much of that is still visible, the Eickhorn oval trade mark is still in perfect condition. Brown anodized scabbard is in fine condition and it is fitted with matching nickel silver mounts. A dagger that would have originally belonged to one of the original old fighters of the SA and it must have seen much history. Good value, if it had a complete inscription the asking price would probably be three times the price of this one. [Condition: Exc++]
