THIRD REICH RIFLE ASSOCIATION DAGGER 1939 MODEL COMPLETE WITH FROG & KNOT.
The Rifle Association is an extremely difficult dagger to find especially in nice condition with a perfect grip which this one has. Silver plated hilt fittings are in excellent condition, the clamshell features the enameled rifle association insignia to include two small swastikas. The white celluloid grip is complete with gilt crossed rifles and it is in perfect condition which is very difficult to find as normally these grip will be cracked but this one is the exception as it is in superb condition. The long double etched blade is by Alcoso Solingen and featuring there stamped trade mark, the etched blade features hunting designs in long foliage panel to include a target board, the blade has a few age marks as you would expect but over all it is still in very nice condition. Black leather scabbard complete with matching silver plated mounts. Complete with black leather frog and rare solid green rifle association knot. The Rifle Association dagger was one of the last Third Reich pattern daggers to be introduced into production in 1939 which is probably one of the main reason that it is so difficult to find as the production period was very short, a very difficult dagger model to find especially in nice condition. SS DAGGER 1933 MODEL, RARE VARIATION WITH EXCLAMATION MARK TO THE END OF THE SS MOTTO.
For many years it was believed that Jacobs was the only manufacturer of this rare variation with the exclamation mark at the end of the SS motto, latter it was discovered that Klittermann & Moog also produced this rare variation and the example i have available is by Klittermann & Moog. The hilt fittings are nickel silver which is correct for early RZM examples by this maker, the fittings have never been cleaned and have a nice age pattiner. The black ebony grip is inset with the SS runic badge and silver eagle, there is one tiny flake of wood missing from the upper portion of the grip as it touches the upper crossguard but it is extremely small and hardly worth mentioning especially when considering the rarity of this SS dagger pattern. The blade features the SS motto, MEINE EHRE HEIST TREUE and then followed by the exclamation point, the reverse side of the blade is etched with the makers details, RZM M7/29 and which as stated above is the code number for Klittermann & Moog, there are a few tiny scratches to the blade but over all this is an extremely nice blade. The scabbard still retains most of the original black paint and it is complete with matching nickel silver fittings. A very rare dagger variation dating to about 1936, it has been at least 4 years since i have had one of these rare exclamation point SS daggers to offer for sale, a very rare variation which is often missing from even advanced collections [Condition: Exc++]
ADOLF HITLER 800 SILVER DINNER KNIFE BY BROOKMAN.
This is one of the 800 silver dinner knifes designed and produced by the silver smiths Brookman and being the formal pattern. The knife is stamped with a set of silver hall marks which are, moon, crown, 800 and the eagle. The blade is a standard steel blade. These Adolf Hitler dinner knifes are always in demand by edged weapon collectors, AH and silver collectors, they also make a very good letter opener perhaps on a collectors desk. POSTSCHUTZ (POSTAL PROTECTION) LEADERS DAGGER.
This example was purchased privately along with the other example on my site and it has never been in a collection. The hilt fitting still retain almost all silver platting, the black enamel swastikas to the Postschutze crossguard are in perfect condition, the under side is stamped with the postal issue number which is 619 DRP, only early production daggers are found with issue numbers and these are the most desirable, latter production daggers are plain with out issue stampings. The black wooden grip is in perfect condition and is complete with the postal eagle metal insignia. The blade is by Paul Wayersberg which was the only manufacturer of this model dagger, it is close to near mint condition with just a few marks that could probably be removed by gentle cleaning. The scabbard retains at least 95% original paint, it shows light wear from age as you would expect, it is fitted with matching silver fittings. Complete with chain hanger which is complete with spring clip which features the correct DRGM markings to the reverse side. A very nice example of a rare dagger and priced very realistically. LUFTWAFFE / DLV 1ST PATTERN LEADERS DAGGER BY GEBR HELLER.
This is one of the very early style 1st model Luftwaffe daggers which it is believed were also worn by the DLV and which have the scabbard fittings attached by large metal staples, exactly the same as you find on the rare 55cm DLV flyer's dagger, this style was used for a very short period with initial production daggers in 1935 before standard production took over. All early nickel silver fittings, fine detail to the brass inlaid swastikas to pommel and crossguard. The blue leather grip is in excellent condition. Very nice and bright blade by Gebr Heller, Marienthal b-Schweina / Thr, with there balloon man trade mark, this is a difficult maker to find on Luftwaffe daggers, this company is better known for there DLV daggers. The scabbard shell on this example is the very early solid leather type which is found only on the very earliest Luftwaffe production daggers ( the standard scabbard is metal shell with a thin leather covering), there are a couple of bumps to the leather from the movement of the scabbard springs but this is normally always seen on these very early solid leather scabbard examples, if it did not exhibit this we would wonder why and this could be of some concern, the matching scabbard mounts are held in place by a single large metal staple to the reverse side of each fitting. The dagger is complete with nickel silver chain hanger. A rare variation for the Luftwaffe collector, it has been some years since I have had one of these to offer for sale. [Condition: Exc++]
