LUFTWAFFE / DLV 1ST PATTERN LEADERS DAGGER BY GEBR HELLER.

LUFTWAFFE / DLV 1ST PATTERN LEADERS DAGGER BY GEBR HELLER.

This is one of the very early style 1st model Luftwaffe daggers which it is believed were also worn by the DLV and which have the scabbard fittings attached by large metal staples, exactly the same as you find on the rare 55cm DLV flyer's dagger, this style was used for a very short period with initial production daggers in 1935 before standard production took over. All early nickel silver fittings, fine detail to the brass inlaid swastikas to pommel and crossguard. The blue leather grip is in excellent condition. Very nice and bright blade by Gebr Heller, Marienthal b-Schweina / Thr, with there balloon man trade mark, this is a difficult maker to find on Luftwaffe daggers, this company is better known for there DLV daggers. The scabbard shell on this example is the very early solid leather type which is found only on the very earliest Luftwaffe production daggers ( the standard scabbard is metal shell with a thin leather covering), there are a couple of bumps to the leather from the movement of the scabbard springs but this is normally always seen on these very early solid leather scabbard examples, if it did not exhibit this we would wonder why and this could be of some concern, the matching scabbard mounts are held in place by a single large metal staple to the reverse side of each fitting. The dagger is complete with nickel silver chain hanger. A rare variation for the Luftwaffe collector, it has been some years since I have had one of these to offer for sale. [Condition: Exc++]

LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS SWORD WITH HANGER AND ORIGINAL CLOTH ISSUE BAG,UNISSUED CONDITION.

This superb example would be difficult to improve on as it is in almost unissued condition. All aluminum fittings are in mint condition, the pommel and crossguard still retains all original gilt finish. The leather grip is in perfect mint condition. Blade by SMF Solingen is stamped with a Waffen amp stamp, the blade is in almost mint condition with just some very minor spotting to the tip, but this really is an excellent blade. Leather scabbard with all original finish complete with match aluminum fitting which are also in mint condition, attached to the upper scabbard mount is the original leather moon shape hanger. The sword is complete with it's original blue cloth issue bag which has protected the sword for the last 75 years, originally the bag had a carrying handle but this is now missing. POSTSCHUTZ (POSTAL PROTECTION) LEADERS DAGGER WITH CHAIN HANGER.

POSTSCHUTZ (POSTAL PROTECTION) LEADERS DAGGER WITH CHAIN HANGER.

This dagger was purchased privately with another Postal dagger and a few other things, it has never been in a collection, this one is in slightly lesser condition but it is considerably cheaper than the other one and at a bargain price. The silver plating to the pommel and the Postal crossguard is in fine condition with a nice age pattiner, the black enamel swastika's are in perfect condition, the under side of the crossguard is Postal issue stamped 1618 DRP, you only ever see the issue stamping on the early production daggers which are the most desirable, latter example are plain with out issue numbers. The black wooden grip is fitted with the silver Postschutz insignia, there are a couple of small insignificant chips to the grip which could easily be restored if required, but this is a very nice grip. The blade is by Wayersberg of Solingen which was the only manufacturer of this model dagger, there are several nicks to the cutting edge and a few smudges to the blade but over all this is a very nice and bright blade which has never been cleaned. The scabbard retains about 65% of the original black factory paint, it is worn but still rather attractive. The silver scabbard fittings match the hilt fitting perfectly and they are in fine condition. Complete with original chain hanger, the clip is in working order and the reverse side has the correct DRGM marking. Bargain price, I doubt if there is a cheaper original postal dagger for sale on any site. [Condition: Exc+]

POLITICAL LEADERS NSDAP ORTSGRUPPE DISTRICT FLAG.

POLITICAL LEADERS NSDAP ORTSGRUPPE DISTRICT FLAG.

This is a very early example of a rare political leader district flag.Double sided flag with red field with white circle and large black early style static swastika, bullion fringe to three sides, the fourth side features five silver metal suspension rings and silver metal dog clip, there was possibly a sixth ring or clip to the bottom of the flag, but if so this is now missing.Unusual unit patch to top left side corner, blue field silver bullion edge piping and with embroidered unit title,NSDAP ORTSGRUPPE MAMBACHEL.Mambachel is situated close to the town of Koblenz in the Rheinland-Pfalz region of Germany, the flag dates almost certainly to the mid 1920s,the NSDAP was not very strong in the Rhinland during this period, there main strength was situated in the south of Germany in Bavaria,so it is especially unusual to find an early flag from this district.A rare early example of a political leaders district flag, early examples are seldom offered for sale.[Condition: Exc++]

The reverse side of the badge features the scarce military style pin and hook, the badge is also stamped GES GESCH in a box, below this is the owners NSDAP membership number 13211. SS Obersturfuhrer Edwald Meiwurm was born in 1887, he served in the German army during WW1 and was awarded several awards to include the Iron cross and wound badge. He joined the NSDAP soon after it was reformed on the 7.8.1925 and received NSDAP membership number 13211, he was also an early member of the SS receiving SS membership number 1889, he was promoted to officer rank of SS Untersturmfuhrer on the 20.4.1934 and was assigned to the 58th SS Standarte (Regiment).
