IMPERIAL GERMAN 1898 / 05 SAWBACK BAYONET COMPLETE WITH FROG AND KNOT.
This model bayonet is often referred to by collectors as the butchers bayonet because of its large size and clever type blade. Metal hilt fittings are in excellent condition with waffen amp stamp to the reverse side, the bayonet slot is still in good working order. Brown wooden grip plates show light age wear. The long impressive sawback blade is by, H.MUNDLOS & CO MAGDEBURG, the spine has an imperial waffen amp stamp, the blade shows light wear just as you would expect. Black painted scabbard shows age wear.Complete with black leather bayonet frog which is maker marked and dated 1916 and complete with black and white imperial bayonet knot. A very nice complete set.[Condition: Exc++]
RARE GERMAN NAVAL MESS DRESS OFFICERS DAGGER.
This rare model German naval dagger measure just about 2/3 the size of a standard naval dagger and was worn with the formal Naval officers mess dress uniform on special occasion and it was worn during the Wiemar republic period and into the Third Reich period and certainly until 1938 when a new model was introduced. Mint orange grip with gilt wire wrap.The crossguard and pommel still retain all original gilt finish. Mint blade is double etched with long floral panels and it is maker marked with the knights head trade mark for WKC. Superb gilt brass lightning bolt scabbard.The dagger measures just over 10 inches or 27 cm long. A very attractive and rare dagger missing from most collections. The last photograph shows a second dagger, this is just for a size comparison and the dagger is not included in the price.[Condition: Near Mint]
LUFTWAFFE 1ST MODEL DAGGER BY RARE MAKER AND NAMED TO ORIGINAL OWNER.
This is a very early quality example produced in nickel silver and dating from the initial production period of 1935 / 1936, all nickel fittings have a nice age patina as the dagger has never been cleaned. Blue leather grip is in fine condition. The nickel crossguard and pommel feature matching sun wheel swastikas. The blade is close to near mint condition, the reverse side features the very desirable makers name for, Gebr Heller Marienthal B.Scheina/Thal & featuring there balloon man trademark (this maker is better known for his DLV daggers), the blade is also stamped with a Waffen amp mark and a three digit number.The matching scabbard is in fine condition with perfect leather shell which is fitted with three nickel silver mounts, the top mount reverse side is engraved with the original owners name, BAUM. Complete with matching nickel silver chain hanger and officers silver bullion dress knot. Checking my Luftwaffe rank list there is only one officer named Baum listed, Major Ludwig Baum who was promoted to Major on the 1.4.1942, a copy of his entry will be included with dagger. This dagger really has it all, rare maker, early quality and named to officer and which i am sure would make an interesting research project.[Condition: Exc++]
NSDAP 15 YEAR LONG SERVICE MEDAL.
This attractive silver NSDAP long service cross is always in demand my collectors. Silver medal with separately applied eagle and swastika in a silver wreath with blue enameled background.The reverse side has the party dedication, TREUE FUR FUHRER UND VOLK , this is set inside a wreath with blue enameled background. Complete with original ribbon. The medal is in fine condition with no damage to the enamel and much original silver finish remaining. [Condition: Near Mint]
DLV FLYERS KNIFE OF VERY EARLY VINTAGE BY EICKHORN COMPLETE WITH HANGER AND BELT LOOP.
This is a very early example from the initial production of these scarce daggers.The leather grip is in fine condition.The metal fitting have a nice age patina as the dagger has never been cleaned, the black enamel swastikas are in perfect condition and the tip of the crossguard is stamped with the letter K as they normally are. The blade is by Eickhorn Solingen and features the early small oval Eickhorn trademark which was used from 1933 / 1935, the blade shows some faint age spotting but it is still very nice and bright, this is a very nice blade. The scabbard still retains all original blue leather covering and the silver fitting have a nice matching black age patina, the throat of the top scabbard mount is stamped with the DLV acceptance stamp. Complete with DLV leather hanger and belt loop. A very nice set by a very desirable maker and of exceptional early vintage and quality. [Condition: Exc++]
SUPERB QUALITY ENGLISH PERCUSSION OVERCOAT PISTOL BY PROUDMAN LONDON.
The quality of this antique pistol is outstanding. Beautiful damascus octagonal barrel, the top is signed London in decorative gilt lettering. Fine quality chequered wooden grip, the blued metal lock plate is signed Proudman and it is decorated with floral designs, the cock is in perfect working order and it has identical decoration. The pistol is fitted with two silver escutcheons (one on the back of the grip and the other one on the side) one of which has the original owners engrave initials. Silver trigger guard with matching floral engraving.The pistol is fitted with a ramrod. Size of the pistol is almost 9 inches long. Circa 1840's. [Condition: Exc++]
POLITICAL LEADERS PEAK CAP 1939 MODEL, GAU LEVEL.
This is a very rare example of a red piped political leaders peak cap which was worn only by the Gauleiter (county leader) and his personal staff and this example is is in near mint condition. Fine looking hat with brown top, dark brown velvet center band and red piping for Gau level of political leadership. Complete with gilt metal eagle and matching cockade, the gold chin cords are held in place by two small gold buttons. The interior of the hat features a pale gold artificial silk lining which shows some slight sweat staining but no damage and it is complete with a plain celluloid diamond, the sweat band is in perfect condition and it is complete with RZM issue tag. A beautiful looking hat in exceptional condition and which is a joy to own. [Condition: Exc++]
SA NCO AUSWEIS ID CARD WITH UNIFORM PHOTOGRAPH, A RARE EXAMPLE AWARDING THE SA ROHM HONOUR DAGGER.
If you have an example of the rare SA Rohm honour dagger this would be a great addition to it as it is basically the award document for the dagger. This SA ID card belonged to SA Oberscharfuhrer Victor Zapp, it was issued on the 30.4.1933 and it has a superb photograph of Zapp wearing his SA NCO's brown shirt with insignia. Zapp was born on the 13.5.1906, he joined the SA on the 1.8.1929 and the NSDAP on the same date with party membership number 147284 and he served in SA Group Schlesian. The membership card has a number of official entry's, 15.12.1933 promotion to SA Obersharfuhrer, 28.3.1934 award of the old fighters chevron and on the 3.6.1934 the award of the SA Ehrendolch ver-Lichen worden (SA honour dagger with inscription). In over 30 years this is only the 2nd SA ID card that I have owned that actually lists the award of the SA Rohm honour dagger, it is extremely rare. [Condition: Exc++]
WW1 SCOTTISH MILITARY CROSS BRAVERY GROUP TO CAPTAIN LYLE OF THE ARGYLL AND SUTHERLAND REGIMENT.
This superb set comprises the WW1 issue military cross which is un-named as issued as most are, 1914/15 star, war medal and victory medal with mentioned in dispatches oak leaf mounted on the ribbon, the star is named to 2nd Lieutant P.Y.Lyle and the last two medal are named to Captain P.Y.Lyle.The medals are complete with the original ribbons and are mounted for display, there is an old card label on the reverse side of the ribbons giving details of the original owner.Complete with a large quantity of research concerning Captain Lyle. Captain Peter Young Lyle was a student at Glasgow university when war broke out in 1914 and he immediately volunteered for military service and as he was already a member of the university Officer Training Corps he was immediately eligible for a commission, on the 12th of August he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion of the famous Scottish Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders Regiment and soon after he was promoted to Lieutenant. After training Lieutenant Lyle arrived in France on the 23rd of November 1914 to join the Regiments 2nd Battalion. He served in France and Flanders until the 10th of November 1915 and being mentioned in Fieldmashall Frenches Dispatches on the 15th of October 1915 for Gallantry and distinguished service in the field and soon after he was returned to England wounded. On the 20th of February 1916 he was promoted to Captain. On the 19th of March he returned to his Regiment in France serving with the 10th Battalion. He was awarded the military cross on the 1st of January 1918. He survived the war and was still a serving officer in 1920. As mentioned previously there is a large research file which comes with these medals. [Condition: Near Mint]
WW1 BRITISH MILITARY CROSS GALLANTRY SET OF MEDALS.
This superb set of three WW1 medal including the rare MC were awarded to, Captain D.A.Mackenzi of the Royal Field Artillery. Captain Donald Alexander Mackenzie was educated at Manchester University where he received a master of arts degree in 1907.He joined the Inns Court Officers Training Corps in 1915, in June 1916 he was posted to the Royal Field Artillery School on the 23.6.1916 and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery on the 2.10.16. Soon after he was posted to France serving with the 317th RFA Brigade and was promoted to Lieutenant on the 3rd of April 1918 and was then appointed acting Captain on the 23.8.1918.The London Gazette of the 2nd of December 1918 announced his award for Conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty.When the limbers and teams of the battery were heavily shelled he prevented more casualties by the prompt and courageous assistance that he rendered. Later when an enemy plane bombed an ammunition dump he extinguished the fire with the enemy plane still overhead. His home address is listed as Hawkley Hall, Worsley Mesnes, Wigan in Lancashire. All three medals are parade mounted, the MC is un-named as issued and the pair are named to Captain Mackenzie. Complete with some research. [Condition: Mint]
