A UNIQUE COLLECTION OF FIVE HITLER YOUTH KNIFES BY EICKHORN CHARTING THE HISTORY OF THIS FAMOUS EDGE
This is an amazing collection of HJ knifes which I have just purchased and which charts the history of the HJ knife manufactured by the Eickhorn company from 1933 until 1942, from the very earliest knife pattern to the very last that they produced and what is immediately noticeable is that the quality was always exceptional, even the 42 dated knife is of very fine quality.Three of these knifes have motto's, the other two have plain blades. Because of the unique nature of the collection I hope to sell them as a complete collection and not sell them separately. 1) This is the earliest example and it has all early nickel silver fittings, the grip plates are perfect, the HJ diamond has a chip to the enamel, the blade shows age and spotting, the obverse side features the HJ motto, the reverse side features the very early 1933 pattern Eickhorn squirrel trade mark of a squirrel in a single oval. The scabbard has been re-painted, the belt loop and grip strap are perfect. 2) Early nickel silver fittings, grip plates and the HJ enamel diamond are perfect. Superb condition blade with HJ motto to the obverse side, the reverse side features the 1933/35 Eickhorn double oval trade mark. The scabbard is in fine condition and the belt loop and grip strap are perfect. 3) Plated hilt fittings are in excellent condition, the grip plates are perfect and complete with a mint HJ enamel badge, the blade is in fine condition and features the HJ motto to the obverse side, the reverse side is etched RZM M7/66 with the 1935/41 squirrel trade mark. Complete with a fine condition scabbard with belt loop and grip strap. 4) Plated hilt fittings are in fine condition, the enamel HJ diamond is in perfect condition. The blade is plain with out motto, the reverse side is etched with the 1935/41 squirrel trade mark and RZM M7/66 and 40, this being the year of manufacture 1940.The scabbard is in fine condition complete with belt loop and grip strap. 5) The silver plated hilt fittings are in fine condition, the grip plates are in perfect condition as is the HJ enamel diamond. Superb condition blade which is plain with out a makers name, the reverse side is stamped RZM M7/66 1942, this being the last year that daggers were produced, after this date Eickhorn concentrated on war production. This really is an fascinating set of HJ knives which would be very difficult to put together again as these knifes have become difficult to find, especially in nice condition. [Condition: Exc++]
HERMANN GORING 800 SILVER NOVELTY SPIRIT FLASK MODELED A LARGE GUN CARTRIDGE.
Silver hip flask standing at 14cm in total height designed as a shot gun cartridge and displays the unique design of Hermann Goring's Reichmarshalls standard, eagle and swastika with crossed batons in decorative border, Goring received this unique rank after the successful campaign in France in 1940, below the standard is Goring's name in script. The base of the cartridge has a crimped design as often seen on gun cartridges, the cartridge head is silver gilt which beautifully compliments the silver tube, the head of the cartridge can be removed and this can be used as a drinking cup.The silver drinking flask has a hinged silver lid. Each separate part has an 800 silver mark, the hinged lid, inside the cup and the reverse side of the flask. Herman Goring had a great interest in hunting and spent much of his spare time at his spectacular hunting estate, Carenhall and a drinking flask modeled as a cartridge would obviously have greatly appealed to him, a unique item of historical importance. SA DAGGER GROUND ROHM, PERSONALIZED TO AN SA OFFICER AND COMPLETE WITH RARE VERTICAL HANGER.
If you are looking for a ground Rohm this is probably the ultimate one to get as it really has it all and it is in fine condition. All early nickel silver fittings, the lower crossguard is SA group stamped Sw and it is also beautifully engraved in an ornate script, Sturmf Lieb 14.4.1934, the quality of the engraving is exceptional and his SA rank in early 1934 was the equivalent to a Lieutenant so there is a good chance that he might have achieved high rank over the proceeding years. The brown wooden grip is in perfect condition and it is inset with SA insignia and Silver eagle. The blade is basically in mint condition, the obverse side features the SA motto, the reverse side has been heavily ground to remove the offending Rohm inscription but some parts of the letters of the inscription are still clearly visable, the early Eickhorn trade mark is also still all complete. The brown anodized scabbard is in fine condition and it still retains much of the original factory finish, the nickel silver fittings are in fine condition with just a slight dent to the ball in the bottom fitting but it is really nothing. Complete with early style brown leather frog hanger with matching early style clip. This is a really nice dagger that i can highly recommend and it would make an interesting research project.
