VERY RARE REICHSKULTURSENAT BADGE.

VERY RARE REICHSKULTURSENAT BADGE.

The honor badge for members of the National senate of culture, it is believed that there were only approximately 250 of this rare badge ever awarded from 1936 / 1945 making it one of the rarest of Third Reich awards. The senate dealt with matters such as art, music, film, theater, radio and press. Dr Goebbls was the leader of the senate and most of of it's members were senior leaders of the party and state such as, Victor Lutze, Hans Johst and Walther Funk. This large badge is basically oval in shape with a gold border forming into 16 points with white enamel center and with gilt lettering, REICHSKULTURSENAT, with large gold eagle and swastika mounted on a column to the center. The reverse of the badge features a high quality pin and hook, the backing plate features two small rivets and bears the issue number 172 and also the makers name, Deschler Munchen and the silver content mark Silber 900. There are two minor variations of this badge featuring slightly different style rivets on the reverse side, one is found on early badges and the other style on latter awards, the one I have is the latter style which is correct for the badge I have which has a fairly high issue number. An extremely rare badge i have only owned one other in the last 30 years, the rarity can not be overstated. The badge is in very nice condition, it does shows light wear as it has been worn and it has also a small shallow flake from the white enamel close to the letter I of the word Reich it has not been restored and it still displays very nicely and considering it's extreme rarity is very acceptable as the chance of finding another example is unlikely and i have priced it very realistically at approximately 50% of the price of a mint example.

VERY RARE 1923 GAU BADGE ORIGINALLY BELONGING TO AN SS OBERFUHRER.

Large black swastika with date 1923 on a circular wreath of oakleaves. Reverse side features two small rivets, pin and hook, silver 800 mark and makers name, R.Wachtler & Lang Mittweida. This award will be found with either a 1923 date or a 1925 date but the 1923 is more desirable as it shows extremely early membership of the NSDAP and many would have also been holders of the Blood order medal. This example originally belonged to SS Oberfuhrer Bachl who from 1942 served with the notorious Kampfgruppe Jeckeln in Russia which was heavily involved in Jewish war crimes. Complete with some post war research concerning this officer. [Condition: Exc++]

PAUL MULLER DAMASCUSE LETTER OPENER.

PAUL MULLER DAMASCUSE LETTER OPENER.

This interesting letter opener or miniature hunting dagger with damascuse blade was originally purchased by the well known author LTC Tom Johnson in the late 1980's direct from the Paul Muller family along with other edged weapons and how he obtained these items is fully described in one of his reference books. The simulated ivory handle is silver inlaid on the obverse side with a stag in a band of oakleaves and acorns, the reverse side is beautifully inset with silver inlay which incorporates the initials KM, this is probably the initials of Mullers wife or a close relative, further research is required to confirm this. The pommel and crossguard are constructed of plated steel. The blade is produced of beautiful damascuse steel of the finest quality. Paul Muller is probably the most famous damascuse sword smiths of the Third Reich period and one of the most desirable for collectors, he formed a contract with the SS to produce blades for the organization and established a sword smithy in 1938 near Dachau, his most famous work is with out doubt the SS birthday swords with presentation damascuse blades that easily sell when occasionally available for in excess of $200,000, the example i am offering is a lot more affordable. Complete with with original photograph and photocopy supplied by LTC Johnson when the knife originally became available in the late 1980's. A unique opportunity to obtain a knife with damascuse blade by this renowned damascuse smith at an affordable price. [Condition: Mint]
