This is a superb very early example produced in nickel silver and which has fine black age patina as it has never been cleaned. The nickel silver pommel and crossguard features brass swastikas. Fine detail to the metal hilt fittings with fine detail to the Luftwaffe eagle. Probably the most ornate of all German daggers and a favourite with most collectors. Fine detail to the silver eagles head hilt. Mother of pearl style grip plates are in perfect condition. ARMY OFFICERS DAGGER 1935 MODEL BY SMF WITH EARLY STYLE GRIP AND COMPLETE WITH HANGERS AND KNOT.

SMF is a rare dagger maker to find for army daggers as they specialised in Luftwaffe products and so they are only seen very occasionally. Early style orange grip is in perfect condition.
