The gilt brass hilt still retains traces of the original gilt finish with excellent detail to the closed wing army eagle and swstika.The back strap is highly decorated with oakleaves. THIRD REICH NCO SHORT MODEL FIRE SERVICE BAYONET WITH MINT SAWBACK BLADE COMPLETE WITH FROG AND KNOT.

The hilt retains at least 95% silver plating, the celluloid grip plates are in mint condition. Mint and very impressive saw back blade, the reverse side is marked Solingen. BRITISH VICTORIAN PRISON WARDERS SHORT SWORD.

These side arms were carried by British prison warders and some police officers. Steel hilt and leather grip which have been painted black many years ago, the paint is old and aged.
