VICTORIAN BRITISH BANDSMAN'S SWORD OF THE 63RD REGIMENT (WEST SUFFOLK).
Impressive brass hilt with fluted handle, the crossguard features Queen Victoria Royal cypher. Impressive steel blade. Black leather scabbard with brass fittings, the upper fitting is unit marked 63 R No9 68 (West Suffolk Regiment issue no.9 1868).The stitching to the reverse side of the scabbard has split over time but this could easily be restored and replaced. Bonze coloured hilt with decorative suba. Cloth bound fish skin grip fitted with three Manuka. The blade is still very bright and in excellent condition. The scabbard shows some age but still retains some original paint finish. A nice clean Katana. Interesting 1920's figure of a Knight in armour that was designed to hold cigarettes and complete with a fitted lighter.
