PAIR OF HUNTING DAGGER CANDLE STICKS.

I believe these very interesting candle sticks date from the late imperial period but as they are not maker marked they could be latter. Although I have had candle stick produced from sword hilts this is the first set I have ever seen produced using hunting dagger hilts, most unusual and certainly rare. Both candle sticks are produced using identical hilt fittings, the crossguard features a stag head and does head one at each end. The ornate clamshell features three hunting dogs attacking a wild boar. Staghorn grips, one very dark and the other slightly lighter and both fitted with brass acorns. Ornate brass matching base to each. If these hunting daggers had not been converted into candle sticks they would be priced at least £1000.00 each. Mint condition.
