VICTORIAN MILITARY SCOTTISH PIPERS HIGHLAND DIRK.
This is an example of a Scottish dirk that would have been carried by the piper of the Regiment. Large silver pommel displays a very large Victorian crown. Black wooden grip in the traditional style fitted with silver pins for decoration as they normally are. Plain steel blade shows some age wear as it has been carried and used for many years but is still very bright and in good condition. Black leather scabbard which is fitted with four matching silver mounts each of witch are decorated on the obverse side with thistles in the typical Scottish style, the top mount on the reverse side is fitted with loop for attachment to the uniform, there are several small nicks to the leather that have been repaired in the past but is still looks very nice.
