IMPERIAL GERMAN CAVALRY OFFICERS SWORD BY EICKHORN WITH SUPERB ENGRAVED BLADE.

This is the 1889 model sword for a Dragon officer. Black celluloid grip is in fine condition with silver hilt fittings and the folding guard features the Prussian eagle, there is a slight dent to the side of the D guard close to the top but this could be easily repaired if required (please see photograph). The impressive plated double etched presentation blade features two long floral panels, the obverse side is etched, DRAG REG KONIG ALBERT VON SACHSEN OSTPR NO 10 with floral designs with crossed standards, swords and cannons. The obverse side features the early Eichhorn stamped double squirrel makers mark and a long floral panel that features a group of over 20 cavalry men on horseback with lances and being led by a mounted bugler and an officer with sword, this is a very impressive etched design. Even the spine of the blade is etched with floral decoration which is normally only seen on high quality blades. Complete with a very nice black anodised scabbard. Bargain price, if this was from the Third Reich period it would be over 2k Exc+
