SS CHAINED LEADERS DAGGER 1936 MODEL, COMPLETE WITH TYPE 1 CHAINS.

This example probably dates to about 1938 or even early WW2, all metal fittings are the silver plated type and it is fitted with type 1 chains. The hilt fitting retain almost all silver plating. Very nice black ebony grip complete with silver eagle and SS runic badge, there is a small scuff to the reverse side of the grip but over all it is an extremely nice grip. The blade features the SS motto to the obverse side and it is very nice with much crossgrain remaining, there are a few small age marks to the lower part of the blade but but not really significant, the reverse side is plain with out a makers mark which is correct for the SS chained dagger, there is some age spotting to the reverse side of the blade but it could be cleaned if required. Black anodised scabbard is in very nice condition and it complete with matching silver plated fittings which are also very nice, the centre mount features six linked swastikas and still retain factory blacking. Complete with type one SS chain hanger which is harder to find than type 2, the SS skulls and runic links still retain much factory blacking to the background, the reverse side of one of the links feature the SS Kulture Zeichen acceptance stamp, the spring clip is in good working order and the DRGM mark can partially be seen inside the cloverleaf which is a features sometimes seen on type 1 chains. Nice looking SS officers dagger that I purchased privately in the UK and is priced lower than normal because of the spotting to the reverse side of the blade, bargain price. Exc+ or better.
