GERMAN FIRE SERVICE OFFICERS DAGGER.

This very nice dagger is not maker marked but from the style of the fittings the maker is almost certainly Eichhorn. Very nice ornate silver pommel. The black leather grip is in perfect condition just showing light handerling wear but no damage at all. The crossguard display the fire mans helmet with crossed axes design to the obverse side, the reverse side is plain. The very long double etched blade features long decorative floral panels featuring fire fighting designs such as ladders, axes and fire helmet, the etch is still good and clear and the blade is in excellent condition. Complete with matching long black leather scabbard, the leather shell is in perfect condition, it is fitted with two matching silver mounts, the upper mount has a small pressure point dent, but it is minor and probably could be removed. A very nice and difficult to find dagger dating from the late 1920's and into the Third Reich period. Exc++
