NPEA CHAINED LEADERS DAGGER BY KARL BURGSMULLER.

The NPEA leaders dagger is one of the hardest standard production daggers to find, in the last 40 years this is only the 3rd example I have offered for sale, as a rarity comparison I have probably sold over 100 chained SS daggers. The hilt fitting are the later plated type and they retain about 90% silver plating over the base metal. The grip is in very nice condition and it is inset with a silver eagle. The blade features the NPEA motto to the obverse side, the reverse side is marked, Karl Burgsmuller Berlin, the blade shows some age spotting and there are faint traces of sharpening to the blade edges, the buffer pad is still in place but it is fairly worn now. The scabbard retains 90% original olive green paint, the wear is mainly to the edges, there is also two tiny dents just below the upper fitting. The matching scabbard fittings are the plated type and the upper two fitting have the Burgsmuller type ramps, the central mount is held in place by pressure as it does not have screws which is correct for this model and is what you want to see. Complete with chain hanger, the spring clip is correctly marked on the reverse side DRGM in a box. Extremely rare dagger often missing from even the most advanced collections. Exc+
