IMPERIAL / THIRD REICH NAVAL OFFICERS DAGGER.

This very interesting example was carried by a naval officer who served during the Imperial, Weimar and Third Reich periods. The crossguard is the Imperial style, the grip is black celluloid which were worn during the Weimar period and finally to up date the dagger it was fitted with the 1938 naval eagle pommel. The blade is plain with out etching and shows wear, the blade spring clip is missing but it still fits nicely into the scabbard. The brass imperial style lightning bolt scabbard is fitted with scarce rope bands, there is also an issue number to the reverse side. German Third Reich naval officers were allowed to wear there imperial naval daggers with an up-dated eagle and swastika pommel. Exc+
