GERMAN NSKK MANS DAGGER BY GEBR GRAFRATH.
All early nickel silver hilt fittings are in perfect condition, the lower crossguard is stamped Nm for the Nordmark SA Groupe. Fine quality brown wooden grip is in perfect condition and it is inset with silver eagle and SA insignia, the quality of the wooden grip is especially impressive. The blade displays the SA motto on the obverse side and the reverse side features the makers details, Gebr Grafrath Solingen, the blade has a few small age marks but over all it is still very nice with much crossgrain remaining. Grafrath is a scarce maker to find and rating 7 out of 10 on the rarity scale, I do not recall having this maker before. Black painted scabbard is in excellent condition with just a shallow dent to the reverse side, the fittings are matching nickel silver. Originally the scabbard would have been brown but in 1936 the NSKK were ordered to re-paint there scabbards black to match the colour of there breeches, some members opted to return there scabbards to the factory for re-painting but many opted to re-paint the scabbard them self's and this is what this NSKK man decided to do.
