MINT UNISSUED ARMY PRINZ EUGEN MODEL SWORD BY EICKHORN.

This is a difficult and very desirable sword model to find especially in mint condition as they normally suffer with considerable loss to the gilt finish but this example is almost unique as it still retains at least 99% gilt finish and is amazing to see. Impressive open wing crossguard eagle and swastika showing much detail. The hilt of the sword features a second closed wing eagle and swastika. The black celluloid grip is in mint condition. The blade is also very impressive as it is also in mint condition and features the stamped Eickhorn Solingen 1935/41 trade mark. The original black paint is also in mint condition just showing some age spidering which is always nice to see. The Prinz Eugen sword was designed by Paul Casberg for Eickhorn and it if from there Field Marshal series of swords, it was worn by army officers and also by members of the Waffen SS probably by those who had not been awarded the official SS officers sword which many never received (please see last photograph). Almost certainly the best example you will ever find. Just about mint condition.
