WW2 RUSSIAN SOVIET SHASHKA SWORD AND BAYONET.

This is the 1927 model of the Russian Cossack cavalry sword with fitted moisin nagant bayonet. Brass pommel decorated with communist hammer and sickle and red star. The wooden ribbed grip is in perfect condition. The hilt has various issue stamps and it is dated 1934. The long cavalry blade is very impressive and it is also dated 1934 and has other Russian stamps, the blade is in excellent condition. Black leather covered scabbard is in perfect condition and it is fitted with matching brass mounts each of which is stamped with a capital M. The reverse side of the scabbard is fitted with a Moisin Nagant bayonet which is stamped with an issue number. Soviet examples of the shashka sword are far harder to find than those of the imperial period. Exc++
