SA DAGGER 1933 MODEL BY JOHANN LEUPOLD OF BAYREUTH COMPLETE WITH RARE BROWN LEATHER VERTICAL FROG HANGER.

All early nickel silver fittings, the lower crossguard is stamped Fr for the Franken SA Group. Superb and very high quality brown wooden grip is inset with eagle and SA insignia. The blade is in near mint condition and it still retains much cross grain finish , the obverse side features the SA motto and the reverse side is etched with the makers details, Johann Leupold Bayreuth with there shield trade mark, this is a very difficult maker to find and I believe it is the only edged weapon manufacturer from Bayreuth. The city of Bayreuth is famous for holding the yearly Richard Wagner music festival which was held during the Third Reich and Adolf Hitler being an enthusiastic regular visitor, the festival is still held today. The brown anodised scabbard still retains much original factory lacquer over the brown anodised finish and it is fitted with matching nickel silver mounts. Complete with early style brown leather vertical frog hanger with early style metal spring clip, the hanger is still strong and firmly in place but I would never recommend removing these hangers as they are easy to damage.
