NSKK 1933 MODEL DAGGER BY VERY RARE MAKER, AUGUST ROTHER.
This example comes from a small grouping of ten daggers that I recently purchased and that have never been in a collection. All early nickel silver fittings have a nice age patina as the the dagger has never been cleaned, the lower crossguard reverse side is marked Nrh for the Niederrhein SA group. The grip is in perfect condition and it is complete with SA insignia and silver eagle. The blade display the SA motto on the obverse side and the makers details on the reverse, August Rother Solingen (this is a 10 on the SA rarity scale,10 being the highest rarity) the blade is a little dull with age and has some faint spotting and scratches but over all it is still very good condition. The scabbard has matching nickel silver fittings with slight dent to the ball of the lower fitting, originally the dagger would have been issued with a brown scabbard but in 1936 the NSKK were ordered to re-paint there scabbards black, the obverse side retains 70% original paint and the reverse side retains 50% of the black paint. Not a mint dagger as it has certainly been worn but it is still in good collectable condition by an ultra rare maker. Exc+.
