The owner originally served with the RAD and then after completing his RAD service he transferred to the army in 1937 serving with Infantry Regiment 11 which was based in Leipzig. Photographs with army comrades training, on leave with comrades and girl friend. Invasion of Poland on the 1st of September 1939, lots of photographs of destroyed buildings and military vehicles, civilian prisoners who appear to be Jewish, dead horses and a dead soldier or possibly a civilian. German military cemetery. From November the Regiment was stationed on the Western Front. Invasion of the Low Country's and France on the 10.May 1940, troops advancing, destroyed building and military vehicles, buildings on fire and destroyed tanks. Dunkirk captured with 20 photographs of the destruction. Paris showing the main buildings. Orleans with troops advancing, destroyed British aeroplane's and military vehicles, guard duty. Many of the photographs have titles and captions with excellent artwork. A fascinating album and far more interesting than most army photograph albums . Exc++
