WW1 BRITISH CASUALTY GROUP OF MEDALS, DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY.
The casualty group comprises, the death plaque, service and victory medals. Awarded to, 20-39 PTE.T.S.COOK.DURH.L.I. The bronze death plaque has the matching name to the medals and is complete with original card envelope as issued. Thomas Soulsby Cook lived in Sunderland with his mother and was born in 1893, he enlisted into the armed forces in 1915 serving with the 20th Battalion of the Durham Light Infantry, he was killed in action on the 26th of June 1917 at the age of just 24 in France, probably at the battle of Arras. Recently discovered in a house clearance and has not been in a collection before. Complete with some research. Near mint.
