NSDAP GAU NIEDERDONAU BADGE DISPLAY SHIELD.

A most unusual and ornate wooden shield mounted with five celluloid badges each featuring a single runic letter and below this are mounted seven miniature metal shields of ancient Germanic design with a single coloured stone to each shield. The shield has the tittle, GAU NIEDERDONAU (Austria). At the bottom of the shield there are two old paper tags and the first one states, 2.REICHS STRAZEN SAMMLUNG, the second paper tag states, 25.UND 26 OCTOBER 1941. The reverse side of the shield has a couple of old strengthening mounts. A most unusual NSDAP display item. Height just over 21cm. Exc++
