THIRD REICH ARMY GENERALS BROCADE BELT WITH GILT BUCKLE.
This rare army Generals belt was purchased from a small provincial auction and has not been in a collection before. The buckle and keeper retain almost all original gilt finish, the reverse side of the buckle is stamped with a capital A for the maker Assmann. Silver and green brocade belt with field grey cloth backing, the brocade has a number of snags to the brocade possibly from rubbing on other souvenirs in the British soldiers kitbag, there are also a number of moth nips to the cloth backing material. The brocade belt used by army Generals is identical to a standard army officers brocade belt only the buckle identified the Generals rank so it would be easy to replace the belt for a mint example but I will leave that decision to the next owner as I prefer to keep it as found. Exc++ over all.
