GERMAN GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS DAGGER BY ALCOSO COMPLETE WITH HANGERS AND KNOT.

A beautiful looking dagger in fine condition. Excellent detail to the eagles head hilt which still retains almost all silver plating. The eagle crossguard is very nice quality with excellent detail to the swastika and better than most. The mother of pearl grip plates are in perfect condition. The blade is in near mint condition and it displays the Alcoso Solingen trade mark, there are three versions of the Alcoso TM found on Alcoso GO daggers and this is the 2nd type, similar to the first type but the Alcoso name is in script over the scales rather than in block letters. The matching Alcoso pattern scabbard is also in exceptional condition retaining all original silver plating. Complete with Government officials hangers with silver brocade with silver metal fittings on green velvet backing, pree war hangers will be found with dark blue backing to match the early dark blue uniform, but war time hangers have green backing to match the field grey / green war time uniform. Silver porteppe, the cord is the very thin type often associated with GO knots but the acorn and stem is slightly larger than some but it is still a lot smaller than the standard army type so it is not the official ultra small GO type knot but it looks nice on the dagger and I am not valuing it at the cost of the extra small type. A superb and very attractive set. Exc++
