Brass lions head hilt still retains some original gilt finish. The crossguard features naval anchor with Queen Victoria crown above, the reverse side of the crossguard is engraved with original owners name, P.R.STEVENS. The blade is double etched with long foliage panels featuring crowned anchor, Royal cypher and makers details, Beagrove & co Portsea, the blade has some minor age spotting but over all it is still very nice. Black leather scabbard with matching brass fittings. Complete with gold and blue knot. Naval officer Percy Richard Stevens served in the British navy during WW1, his highest rank was Commander. I am sure much more could easily be discovered by research. Exc++
