VERY RARE THIRD REICH FUHRER STANDARD, SUPERB NEAR MINT EXAMPLE.
These very rare standards were flown when ever Adolf Hitler was in personal attendance at an event, this example is naval issue stamped so it was probably flown at a naval base or from a very large naval ship when the Fuhrer paid an official visit. Red cotton flag with gold printed eagle to each corner and with large black swastika to the centre set in a gold wreath. The flag is complete with original rope tie. The white cloth border features naval eagle (the tiny black swastika is slightly rubbed) with flag description, Fuhrerstandarte and then IV, it is not size marked but it is 240 x 240 square, it also has a cloth machine stitched makers tag, Fahnenrichter gegr 1869 Koln 8 and then with makers initials (this company seems to be the main manufacturer of the Fuhrer standards) . The flag is double sided. There are several tiny insignificant moth nip but basically the flag is in almost mint condition and still retains very bright colours, I have owned two or three Fuhrer standards over the last 40 years but this is the best condition of all of them, I have never seen a better example. A superb wall display in a collector room. Near mint.
