POLITICAL LEADERS BROWN SHIRT, KREISS LEVEL LEADER.

This political leaders brown shirt would have been originally issued in about 1936 with black district piping, in 1938 it was up-dated to conform to the new regulations and piping. The brown shirt is fitted with two upper box pockets and it is complete with all orginal buttons. The tunic was originally issued in about 1936 with black Kreiss level district piping to the collar and collar patches but in 1938 the district colour was changed by order of the NSDAP from black to white piping, so the owner changed the collar piping to this new colour in 1938. The collar patches are the 1936 model with two silver bullion swastika decorated L rank bars on brown velvet backing for the rank of Kreiss Hauptstellenleiter which is a mid level rank and again they would originally have had black piping but this was changed at the same time as the collar piping was changed to White. The tunic would have originally been issued with silver metal buttons decorated with the eagle and swastika but in 1938 political leaders were ordered to change there buttons to the gold type as silver buttons would no longer be aloud to be worn. The right sleeve is fitted with a party arm band but it is an unusual example and slimmer than the standard type, red cotton arm band with white circle and black swastika and with title which is printed in large black letters, NSDAP EINSATZ-BEREITSCHAFT, which shows that the original owner was assigned to special service in the NSDAP. The inside collar of the tunic is factory marked with a long series of number, the interior of the shirt has five cloth belt hook holders each of which is marked, BOBI Gesch Gesch. There was also a cloth RZM tag but this is now completely faded and no text can now be seen. A very interesting political leaders brown shirt. Near mint.
