All early nickel silver fittings have a nice age patina. Pommel and crossguard feature early style brass swastika inset disks. The blue leather grip is in fine condition. The blade is in excellent condition and it is by Gebr Heller Marienthal B Schweina/Thr with there desirable balloon man trade mark, the blade also has a waffen amp mark and is also stamped 134. The scabbard still retains 100% original blue leather with matching nickel silver mounts, the throat is lightly engraved but it is now very faint and difficult to see but it appears to be, N 134 and so it matches the blade issue number, the reverse side of the top fitting is also engraved with the original owners name in large capital letters, BAUM. Complete with matching nickel silver chain hanger and silver knot. A Very interesting early personalised example with hanger and knot by a very desirable maker with issue stamps and owners name.
