THIRD REICH ARMY LIONS HEAD SWORD BY ALCOSO.

This is high quality early gilt brass example. The lions head hilt still retains much original gilt finish with red glass eyes, the eagle and swastika is the open wing type with excellent detail to the swastika. The black celluloid grip is in mint condition. The blade is by Alcoso Solingen and displays there early pattern trade mark with out the company name which is correct for an early production sword of this period, there are a few minor age marks to the blade but over all it is still extremely nice and would rate close to near mint condition. The scabbard retains at least 85% original black paint. The sword with scabbard measures 40 inches or 102cm long. A very high quality and impressive sword. Exc++
