LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS SWORD BY SMF WITH HANGER AND CLOTH ISSUE BAG.

This is a very nice early production example. Early nickel silver hilt fittings, the pommel and crossguard are inset with gilt brass swastikas. The blue leather grip is in fine condition just showing light wear. The blade is in near mint condition and it is maker marked SMF Solingen and it also stamped with the Luftwaffe waffen amp mark. The blue leather scabbard is also in fine condition and just shows light wear mostly to the reverse side with a small scuff but no damage or missing leather, it is fitted with matching nickel silver fittings. The scabbard is fitted with leather moon shaped hanger. Complete with cloth issue bag which shows some fading from age but it is sill very nice. A very nice complete set, these early Luftwaffe swords have become difficult to find especially with the issue bag. Close to near mint condition.
