WW1 BRITISH OLD BILL CAR MASCOT.

A superb and rare bronze figure of Old Bill a well known WW1 British military character. He is wearing a British WW1 helmet which is signed on the reverse side Bruce Bairnsnfather who designed and registered the Old Bill character. The under side of the figure is marked, Copyright and registration number 966920 which shows that the design was officially registered. Complete with original metal plinth. Bruce Bairnsfather (1888 - 1959) a civilian artist who became a British officer during WW1 and came up with the character of Old Bill in 1915 and his exploits were featured in the popular WW1 Bystander magazine. The bronze figure is complete with original long screw fitting and pedestal metal mount. Hight of the bronze figure is approcamatly 5 inches or 12cm but can be extended on the pedestal if required.
