POLITICAL LEADERS PEAK CAP, SCARCE EARLY EXAMPLE OF ORTSGRUPPE LEVEL .

These early style political leaders hats are much harder to find than the latter style as most were converted by there original owners into the latter style hat by simply changing the insignia. This example dates to about 1935 and it has a very good high front. High quality brown cloth top with dark brown velvet centre band with blue piping for the Ortsgruppe level of political leadership. The cap features the 1934 early pattern eagle and swastika and enamel swastika badge to the centre band. The hat is fitted with gold chin cords which are held in place with two gold buttons, these early examples can be found with silver or gold cap cords, gold was for the Ortsgrupenleter and his senior staff and silver for lower ranking officials. The interior features gold silk lining with plain celluloid patch, the brown leather sweat band is in perfect condition and the underside has an large brown RZM label. There are a couple of minor moth nips to the reverse side of the hat but other than that it is close to near mint condition.
