BRITISH WW1 COMEMORATIVE OLD BILL CHEESE DISH.

Most old bill pottery you find will be plates and bowls, this is the first cheesE dish I have offered for sale and even better it is in near mint condition. The plate has a couple of insignificant chips from the underside of the plate but they are hardly worth mentioning. The lid is mint condition and it is decorated with three different designs of the British soldier old Bill and which depict him in a trench with comical inscriptions below each. The top of the lid features the British coat of arms in shield design. The underside of the lid has the manufacturers pottery stamp for Wintons. A rare and unusual ceramic cheese dish. Near mint.
