THIRD REICH ARMY PIONEER BAYONET.

This model bayonet is often described as the pioneer / engineer model but it was almost certainly just a manufactures variation which was offered by just a few makers and which was not very popular at the time which now makes it a rare bayonet for collectors.The black celluloid grip plates are in perfect condition. The pommel of the pioneer is more rounded with out the protruding beak and the tip of the crossguard is rounded rather than up-turned, the hilt still retains about 90% silver finish.The plain blade is in mint condition.The black scabbard paint appears to be original and shows light wear.This bayonet was purchased privately and it has never been in a collection.
