SPANISH CIVIL WAR LUFTWAFFE MINIATURE SWORD.

This very rare miniature sword or Main Gauche was produced in Spain during or just after the Spanish civil war and was presented to a member of the German Luftwaffe who was supporting the Fascist forces of General Franco and was a part of the Legion Condor. Gilt metal handle and pommel, beautiful and highly decorative basket hilt with blue and gilt floral decoration, it also depicts on the obverse side a large and highly detailed Luftwaffe eagle with swastika and letter LG (Legion Condor). Long steel blade with blue and gilt decoration and marked Toledo which is a Spanish city which is well known for it production of edged weapons just like Solingen in Germany. Size 22cm long. A very rare miniature, i do not recall having one of these before although i have seen a couple of similar examples in collections in the past. Condition: Near Mint
