IMPERIAL GERMAN 1871 MODEL NCO DRESS BAYONET WITH PRESENTATION DEDICATION TO BLADE BY WKC COMPLETE WITH FROG AND KNOT.
A very long Imperial German presentation dress bayonet measuring 25 inches long which is almost a short sword. Attractive brass hilt, the grip is decorated on the obverse side with horizontal grooves. The superb near mint double etched blade is by WKC Solingen, the obverse side features a long decorative panel which incorporates crossed cannons, officer on horseback and presentation inscription, 1 THURING FELD ARTILL RGT NO 19 all set in decorative foliage panel, the reverse side features mounted gun crew pulling a large field gun and again this is all set in a long foliage panel. Black leather scabbard with matching brass mounts, the lower mount has several small insignificant dents. Complete with white and red imperial knot and leather bayonet frog which is stamped Berlin 1912, there is also traces of a white painted number to the reverse side of the frog which could be the remains of an old museum inventory number. A very nice and impressive bayonet which i can highly recommend as it is really beautiful and in fine condition. Exc++
